I was born in Cajun country and have lived here for most of my life. I attended college in Natchitoches, where I met my husband Kyle. I then moved back to Lafayette and taught high school math for 8 years. I am now a stay at home mom of two and birth doula. I enjoy cooking (and eating!), knitting, reading, and striving to live a clean and healthy lifestyle.
Kyle and I were married in 2014, and two years later I gave birth to our first son. His birth was an unmedicated hospital birth, and was an amazing experience despite my anxiety leading up to it. It left me with the sense that birth should be a positive experience for all women. Much of society and the media would have us think the opposite. It shouldn’t be that way!
My experience led me to train with DONA (Doulas of North America) in 2017. Since then, I have been trained in the use of the Rebozo, a traditional Mexican scarf that, when used correctly, can help to facilitate a more comfortable pregnancy, labor, and even postpartum period! I have also participated in a Spinning Babies workshop, where I learned techniques and exercises to “make room for baby” and help baby to be in the optimal position for labor.
A woman’s body was especially designed to give birth and each woman CAN successfully give birth naturally if she is given the knowledge and support that she needs. Let me help you to have to birth that you want!
